Advisory Council

About
The Chair of Christian Thought at the University of Calgary serves as a resource and catalyst in promoting Christian Thought in both the University and the larger Calgary Christian community.  The Chair’s mission is to act as a bridge between the academy and faith communities, bringing the academic study of religion to the communities, and representing the Christian interest in providing for the teaching of Christian Thought in the university.

The role of the Chair of Christian Thought Advisory Council is to concern itself with the relationship of the Chair to the Calgary religious communities.  Specifically, the Council provides:

1. Assistance to the Chairholder in determining effective strategies to promote:
- public interest in Christian faith, culture and heritage
- public support of the vision and mission of the Chair
- public appreciation of an academic / intellectual approach to Christianity
- public  understanding, goodwill, and co-operation within the religious Communities of Calgary

2. Supervision of the Enrichment Initiatives to the Calgary community, which are sponsored by the Chair of Christian Thought

3. Oversight of the Extra-curricular Budget used to sponsor the above-mentioned Lectures and Enrichment Initiatives
