Terms of Reference

Mandate

The Fund Development Committee (FDC) is an ad hoc committee appointed by the Chair of Christian Thought Advisory Council; it is responsible to the Advisory Council. Its mandate is to work in the capacity to raise funds for the Chair of Christian Thought (CCT) at the University of Calgary based on a vision and goals set by the Advisory Council.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • The FDC’s task is to support the CCT Advisory Council in reaching its fundraising goals
  • Identify prospects, appropriate levels of solicitation and other pertinent information
  • Participate in solicitation and stewardship activities where appropriate
  • Lead in development of the Legacy Circle being funded by a broad cross section of the Calgary community
  • Provide feedback regarding fund development related marketing and communication materials
  • The FDC shall function in a way that is consistent with the vision statement and terms of reference for the CCT
  • FDC meetings will take place on a monthly basis
  • The FDC Chair will preside over all meetings; if the Chair is unavailable, the Faculty of Humanities Development Director will preside over the meeting
  • The Development Director or an assigned member of the FDC will report back on activities of the committee to the Advisory Council
  • The annual budget for the FDC shall be approved by the Advisory Council
  • Assist in the development and cultivation of supportive relationships between the CCT and the community.
